- I have a question, previously I have written a question regarding protected oral sex. The problem was the following: the sex worker put me the condom with her mouth and i can't remember if she has previously sucked my penis for one or two seconds without the condom because I was very nervous at that moment. Since that episode I am living a hell. I have lost the appetite and three days ago I started with cough, sore throat and green or yellow mucus. Today I feel a slight head ache. I wonder if these symptoms could be related with primo-infection. The described episode was three weeks ago. I want to know if I have to be tested, if I have to wait three months for the test or if it is possible to be tested a month after the episode in order to know I was infected. The other question is: the hiv test can detect HIV 2? the sex worker was african.

- Dear Peruviano,
the situation described in your previous question wasn't at risk for HIV transmission: HIV test isn't necessary.
HIV test is able to identify HIV1 and HIV 2 types. You can do your first HIV test after 30 days, but the test will be conclusive after 90 days from a at risk episode.
